DESCRIPTION:Quelle chance nous avons de recevoir Rae Broyles en Octobre 2022 qui restera jusqu’au 6 Novembre 2022\nStatement from the Artist: \nMarginalia are illustrations or notations in the margins of manuscripts. In medieval illuminated manuscripts figurative marginalia provide a rich terrain of artistic expression\, with distinctive characteristics according to period\, locus of production\, and school or scriptorium. \nEkphrastic Poetry is poetry written about existing or imagined works. Here\, I am creating a dance of back and forth with words and images creating new pathways for each to take. \nThis work is a study of the commonalities and relationships of abstract painting and poetry; how various forms of artistic expression can relate\, intertwine or enhance each other. By combining video\, painting\, music\, choreography and/or poetry I am exploring how life is so beautiful and so complex it takes many dimensions to fully express i \nRae Broyles \nPresentation par l’artiste : \nEn marge sont des illustrations ou des annotations dans les marges des manuscrits. Dans les manuscrits enluminés médiévaux\, les notes en marge figuratives fournissent un riche terrain d’expression artistique\, avec des caractéristiques distinctives selon la période\, le lieu de production et l’école ou le scriptorium. \nLa poésie ekphrastique est une poésie écrite sur des œuvres existantes ou imaginées. Ici\, je crée une danse d’allers-retours avec des mots et des images créant de nouvelles voies pour chacun. \nCe travail est une étude des points communs et des relations de la peinture abstraite et de la poésie ; comment diverses formes d’expression artistique peuvent se relier\, s’entremêler ou s’enrichir mutuellement.
